Back from the beyond!

My husband and I (and our boys of course) went to visit his family for a bit of an extended weekend (complete with lots of driving and lots of gratefulness to my mom who let us borrow her travel DVD player!). We just got back yesterday and now I'm feeling the pressure to get things done!

But before I go start my to-do list (which includes mailing something at the post office... my only "I have to leave the house" task of the day) I wanted to share my newest fat quarter finds. My awesome mother in law took me to a quilt shop when we were in Minnesota and of course I walked around like a drooling fool looking at all the gorgeous fabrics -- including some that my quilt shop doesn't carry!!! I SOOO love fabrics. I had to hold back and *only* get a few this time... but I have a $20 gift certificate to my own quilt shop that's burning a hole in my handmade wallet and I'm dying to use it!

I'm making myself wait until I have something specific in mind that I want to make before I go back... otherwise I'll just blow it on fat quarters when I really want to make another messenger bag or purse to sell!

Anywho, here are my newest drool-worthy fat quarters:

My glorious stack :-) So lovely!

From the same line as my other favorite material... LOVE this fruity floral print!!

This is one of my new favorite fabric designers, Amy Schimler. They were out of some of my favorite prints of hers in the fat quarters and I didn't have time to ask them to cut some special for me, so I got this - ADORABLE!!

More fruity fabric! Can you see a cute little zippered pouch with this?

Look familiar? ;-) What can I say, I couldn't resist!

And last but certainly not least, this yummy fabric makes me all happy and gooey inside! My mother in law has claimed it and I will soon be making her her very own zippered pouch. Fun!

  2. I like how you paired the fruity fabric and the teal on, even though there's no teal in the fruity. Sweet! I like the funky little clash.
